Bernard Schottlander

The German-born designer Bernard Schottlander studied sculpture at Leeds College of Art, after which he moved to St John's Wood, an area of London frequented by French artists. His artwork utilises metal to create structural pieces, informed by the work of Alexander Calder's hanging, primary coloured mobiles.

His collection of Mantis lamps are now produced by DCW Editions. The range was informed by his sculpture practice; as it has a long arm which cantilevers away from the wall, it is equally adorned with a choice of primary coloured shades.
