Nathalie du Pasquier was born in France in 1957 and has lived in Milan since 1979.
A founding member of the highly influential Memphis Group, she worked as a designer until the 1980s. During this time she created numerous distinctive designs for textiles, carpets and other surface patterned projects as well as furniture and objects.
From 1987 onwards she began to focus on painting and this remains her primary creative activity. Her work represents an ongoing exploration of abstract constructions that suggest three-dimensional structures. The notion of construction is a strand that connects her recent work with her earliest contributions to the evolution of the Memphis aesthetic.
