Takashi Kimura, born in 1981.

Kimura's contemporary flower arrangements and storefront displays are based on the aesthetics of Ikebana, traditional Japanese flower arrangement. In addition to creating flower decors and space designs for various haute couture salons, kabuki theaters, and network television shows, he has exhibited site-specific installations in venues such as BMW Group Studio, FIAT CAFFE, Tomorrowland, etc.

As an emerging cultural figure, he has been featured in both Japanese and international media.

In 2009 he appeared in television commercials and advertisements for the Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO, and the French TV station Canal Plus broadcast a documentary program on his art.

In 2010 he entered the Global Casting Competition, a world-wide contest for young talents in multiple fields of fashion conducted by United Colors of Benetton. He placed 83rd out of 64,000 candidates in a poll, and was covered in the quarterly magazine COLORS,

a Benetton publication in four languages from Treviso, Italy. In 2011 his works will be featured in the forthcoming issue of the bi-annual horticulture magazine BLOOM, published by Lee Edelkoort's creative trend forecasting company Trend Union based in Paris, France.
