twentytwentyone is excited to exclusively offer the last remaining warehouse stock of Peter Nelson lighting.

The Austrian-born Peter Nelson (1928 – 2009) spent the early part of his career working in the aeronautics industry. Amongst other projects, he worked with Howard Hughes on the development of the triple-tailed, four-engined Lockheed Constellation aircraft.

In 1961 Nelson left the aeronautical industry to concentrate solely on lighting design, founding the company Architectural Lighting.

Inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s maxim of doing more with less, his lighting designs have a refined technical appearance and precision engineered finish that reflects his background in aircraft design.

The cuboid switch blocks hand-milled from solid aluminium that feature on many of his table and floor lights are a characteristic detail.

Although Nelson’s designs are no longer in production, the final tranche of table, floor and wall/ceiling lights is now available to view and purchase exclusively at twentytwentyone.
