The Chieftain is an icon of Danish furniture, and bares all the hallmarks of Finn Juhl's inspired approach to design. A modern take on the colonial chair, the Chieftain draws its inspiration from art, customs, and weaponry from foreign shores. Its shield-like back and comfortable low seat appear to almost float in the space between the hardwood frame, maintaining its visual lightness.
The Chieftain sofa was designed in 1949 and first presented at the Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition. Whilst the Chieftain Chair went on to wider production, the sofa displayed at the exhibition was the only known example to exist until Onecollection's relaunch of this rare piece.
Two seat sofa made of walnut or teak in a natural finish.
The seat and back are available upholstered in a range of leathers. Please click on the leather name below for images and leather codes. When placing an order, please specify both the leather name and number in the text box above.
