Originally designed in 1941 as an experimental piece for Finn Juhl's private home, the Poet sofa has become recognised as an iconic piece of Danish furniture. This compact two-seat sofa embodies the essential qualities of Danish Modern design; quality, comfort, and a wholly organic aesthetic.
Inspired by surrealist art, the Poet has a fluid, curved form that almost seems to embrace the sitter. Finn Juhl was strongly influenced by contemporary sculpture and the Poet sofa made its debut at the Cabinet Makers' Guild exhibtion beneath a sculptural relief by Hans Arp which echoes its organic curves.
The padded frame is fully upholstered to create a snug and inviting seat that is equally suited to a casual lounge environment or a more formal meeting area.
Solid wooden legs available in a choice of oak, teak, or walnut.
The Poet sofa is available upholstered in a wide range of fabric and leathers. Please click on the fabric name below to view sample swatches and fabric codes. When placing an order, please specify both the fabric name and number in the text box above.
