Transient Feet by Aman Khanna.
Aman Khanna's Transient Feet are unique ceramic sculptures that form part of his Claymen series: a continuing exploration of the nature of identity, selfhood and what it means to be human in the world.
Each pair of Transient Feet is hand-sculpted from clay with the aim of signifying "impermanence and the fragility of human life and the human mind." With a deft and minimal hand Khanna creates a sense of profound character and human presence which is immediately appealing.
The use of unadorned clay bears particular significance for the artist. Khanna notes that "clay is a simple, everyday raw material used by everyone. Sun dried, half-baked in an open fire - clay is omnipresent and yet individual in the way one uses it."
Use as sculptural objects in their own right or as a striking container for jewellery and keepsakes.
Handmade in India. Glazed stoneware.
Please note that due to the handmade character of these designs each set of Transient Feet is entirely unique and images shown here are representative only.
