2207 Mogensen Club Chair, 1962

2207 Mogensen Club armchair by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia.

The 2207 armchair and two and three-seat sofas are part of a fully upholstered suite designed by Børge Mogensen in 1963. The simple, yet characteristic design is a continuation of the master, Kaare Klint’s, sofas from the 1920s, which inspired details such as the curve in the armrest and the arch of the back.

Børge Mogensen graduated from the School of Architecture with a clear mission. He wanted to create quality furniture that everyone could afford. Yet 20 years later, he designed the sofas and chairs that now furnish cabinet ministers offices and Danish embassies around the world.

The first of the iconic sofas were released in 1962, followed by many different variations, evolving them into Danish institutions.
