Mourne Tweed cushion designed by Gerd Hay-Edie for Mourne Textiles.
Mourne Textiles produces woven fabrics of exceptional design and quality using the last remaining production hand loom weaving workshop in Northern Ireland. The company was originally founded by designer Gerd Hay-Edie whose distinctive textiles were used by, amongst others, Robin Day, Gordon Russell, Conran and Liberty.
This classic mid-century Tweed uses a design by Gerd Hay-Edie which was made famous by its use in the 1956 Spring collection of Irish fashion designer Sybil Connolly.
Each Tweed is woven using a 'wild' spun yarn from Donegal which produces a richly textured effect, ensuring each piece is unique.
