Louise Bourgeois is considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century. In 2002, when Bourgeois was 91, she created the scrapbook Ode à l'oubli. The pages and binding of this sketchbook were made from the monogrammed linen that formed part of the artist's 1938 wedding trousseau. Within, Bourgeois placed sketches, paintings and collages of fabric made from her own clothing and textiles.
The motifs featured on this collection of plates are taken from the Ode à l'oubli scrapbook and translated into fine bone china.
