Skynest C by Marcel Wanders for Flos.
A part of Marcel Wanders Skynest's family, the Skynest C shares the same dramatic dome and innovative design as its predecessor, the Skynest Suspension; the only difference is that it is mounted directly onto the ceiling.
The sculptural dome is constructed from a tubular mesh network made from recycled polyester, with each luminous element powered by a special micro-connector connected to the top.
This pendant has a unique feature where the light doesn't come from a bulb or an LED board, but instead from the fabric. The fabric has LED strips incorporated into its structure. For the best light emission, the LED modules are always white when facing the inside of the dome.
Skynest has a built-in balancing system and an aluminium ring at its base to keep the structure in place through a simple snap-fit design.
Constructed without any glue so that all parts can be detached and recycled at the end of their life.
