Introducing the Nelson Crisscross Cigar Bubble Pendant - a revolutionary modernist lighting fixture designed by the pioneering American designer George Nelson in 1947.
Originally produced in 1952, these elegant orbs were inspired by silk-covered Swedish pendant lamps that Nelson found too expensive for his office. To create the Bubble Lamp, he employed his resourceful working process and used a self-webbing plastic spray developed by the U.S. military over a lightweight, rounded-steel frame, resulting in soft and glowing fixtures that are sure to add a touch of sophistication to any space.
The Bubble pendants are also widely recognised and form part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
