Prepop chair, 1971
Prepop chair by Arne Jacobsen for Asko Finland.
The Prepop range included a table and the collection could be ordered in different colours.
The circular form of Prepop echos Jacobsen’s earlier designs such as ‘Cylinda-Line’ and the Vola taps of 1967 and 1969.
The expressive use of plywood and the availability of colours reflects a cultural shift in tastes and Jacobsen’s desire to align with contemporary tastes.
