Fun 8DM Pendant Light by Verner Panton for Verpan.
Verner Panton designed the Fun collection with a aim of creating a light that could make a bold impact while diffusing light effectively.
Designed in 1969, Panton initially experimented with metal discs for the design, but after stumbling upon some seashells during a walk along a Malaysian beach, he decided to opt for mother-of-pearl instead.
The Fun 8DM Pendant comprises a single cluster of these mother-of-pearl discs suspended by chains of small metal rings to form a diamond shape.
When moved by a breeze, the hanging discs produce a gentle crystalline sound, adding an extra sensory element to the piece.
When illuminated, the pendant casts intricate patterns onto its surroundings, evoking an enchanting ambience.
The light is mounted on a white mdf ceiling plate.
