Friso Kramer (b.1922) is a Dutch designer who has had a significant role in propelling the modernist aesthetic of the Netherlands. In 1948, Kramer began designing for furniture manufacturer Ahrend and later went on to become the Art Director from 1971 to1983.
Wim Rietveld (1924-1985) - son of architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld - trained as a designer at the Royal Academy in Hague. In 1958, Rietveld started working at Ahrend where he and Friso Kramer collaborated on numerous projects.
During their time working at Ahrend, Kramer and Rietveld produced a range of iconic designs such as the Result chair (1958); Pyramid Table (1960); the Facet table (1964) and the modular MEHES office series (1972).
