Bertoia high back armchair or Bertoia Bird chair designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll.
Designed in 1952, Harry Bertoia received the award for the American Designer of the Year in 1955 amongst other credits.
The Bertoia collection includes a side chair, bar stool, counter height stool, bench, lounge chair, armchair, high back armchair and asymmetric armchair and has been in continuous production around the world since its introduction.
Knoll historian Brian Lutz once said “Bertoia’s paintings were better than his sculptures. And his sculptures were better than his furniture. And his furniture was absolutely brilliant.”

Materials
The mesh seat and frame are available in polished chrome, black or white rilsan, a high-performance, strong and lightweight polymer of 100% renewable origin.
Fully upholstered in fabrics or leathers of the collection, secured to chair with lock-snaps. Please click here to view the Knoll approved upholstery.
Please note: When upholstered in Eva fabric collection, there will be a lead time of 12-14 weeks.
The Knoll logo is stamped into the base of the chair.
