OW149 Colonial armchair by Ole Wanscher for Carl Hansen & Son.

Ole Wanscher designed the Colonial range of furniture in 1964. This refined collection clearly reflects Wanscher's interest in eighteenth-century English furniture as well as a certain nostalgia for the Colonial aesthetic.

The Colonial range includes a two-seater sofa, armchair, footstool and coffee table. The seating elements feature a solid wood frame with a cotton webbing base that supports loose cushions made from a down mix.

A well-crafted lounge chair with a simple and refined expression. The chair is very stable and has an outstanding finish. The seat is made of hand woven cane. It is ideal for rooms where flexibility and lightness are desired.

The wood frame is available in walnut and oak. All woods may be chosen with a lacquered or oiled finish, with the oak additionally available in a soaped, white oiled or black lacquered finish. Please note that even when painted black, oak has a clearly visible grain.

This chair's cushioning can be upholstered in a variety of Carl Hansen fabrics or leathers. See downloadable specification sheet for details of the relevant Kvadrat and Gabriel fabric collections.

Samples of the full range of Carl Hansen & Son upholstery fabrics are available to view at our shop and showroom.

Sample images of wood finishes and available upholstery may be viewed on the downloadable sheets.
