Marco Zanuso's Lady chair was awarded the gold medal at the 1951 Milan Triennale and rapidly achieved the status of a modern design icon. Zanuso's design married appealing organic curves with technological innovation, making use of the most up to date materials and manufacturing processes available at time.
The Lady chair has a steel frame with poplar plywood armrests, padded in CFC-free polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The density of the foam used for seat, backrests and armrests is differentiated according to the varying degrees of support required.
The steel chair legs are available in three different finishes: matte basalt, brass chrome and black chrome.
The non-removable fabric or leather upholstery is available in the fabrics and leathers of the Cassina collection, with the following exceptions: Canvas, Toile, Lempicka, Panorama 1-2-3, Waterborn, Everest 1-2, Nepal. Please see downloadable specifications sheets for details of available upholstery options and enquire for further details.
Arflex have selected a fabric range that they recommend for this chair. Please see downloadable sheet for details.
In addition, the Lady chair is available in an iconic edition with checked black and white upholstery and a matte basalt base.
