Description

Eames EDU desk by Charles & Ray Eames for Vitra.

In 1949, Charles and Ray Eames developed a new system of free-standing multifunctional shelves and writing desks which - similar to the Eames House that dates from the same time - were constructed strictly in keeping with the principles of industrial mass production: the Eames Storage Units (ESU) and Eames Desk Units (EDU).

Table top in plywood with birch veneer. Metal surfaces in black powder-coated finish and panels in powder-coated aluminium. Shelves in maple plywood with birch face veneer and clear lacquer finish.

Height-adjustable legs.
