Mater has reinterpreted the Ocean table originally created in 1955 by renowned designers, Jørgen and Nanna Ditzel. Collaborating with Dennie Ditzel, their daughter, Mater has created a new, sustainable iteration made of recycled fishing nets and hard plastic.
Mater is committed to creating ethical, high-quality designs. The small Ocean table uses 1140g of marine plastic waste and the large uses 2090g of marine plastic waste removed from the ocean. The collection is designed for disassembly, each component fully recyclable when reaching the end of its life, creating a cycle of sustainability.
The elegant, lightweight table features repeated plastic slats supported by a robust steel frame. The original consisted of a steel frame and wood veneer slats, the new design has increased slightly in size to accommodate modern proportions.
The Ocean table is available in two sizes, the small square version comfortably seats two people while the large rectangle seats four.
Available in black or concrete green with a steel frame in gunmetal finish.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The Ocean table was awarded the Wallpaper* magazine design award in early 2019.
