P40 Lounge Chair by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno
The P40 lounge chair was designed by Osvaldo Borsani in 1955, following the success of the D70 divan. Wanting to extend the potential of a static armchair he devised a series of mechanical joints, creating a new freedom of movement that allowed the seat to assume different positions.
The backrest and seat are pivoted to permit all possible angles, the chair capable of unfurling in a fan-like manner from fully reclined to completely closed.
A hidden element beneath the seat can be unfolded to provide additional leg support and includes an integrated pull-out metal footrest.
The base is available in painted matt dark grey or satin nickel, the arms are steel and rubber.
