Yngve Ekström

Yngve Ekström is a Swedish designer, woodcarver, sculptor and architect born in Småland, Sweden in 1913.

From 13 years old, he started working in the oldest furniture factory in the region of Småland, and this is where he developed his craftsmanship. He was renowned in the Scandinavian Modernism movement which emerged in the 1950s, creating many notable chairs; including the 1956 "Lamino" chair.

Due to Yngve's Ekström's unique and contemporary style, many of his designs are sought after and remain in production.
