Oak turned-wood box designed by Henning Koppel for Georg Jensen.
Danish designer Henning Koppel worked closely with homewares and silverware producer Georg Jensen and was largely responsible for defining the classic Scandinavian mid-century style that is so closely associated with the brand.
Koppel is particularly noted for the effortless way in which his designs combine understated beauty with function, and the turned-wood keepsake box is no exception. This tactile bonbonniere (a box for sweets, keepsakes or trinkets) was never put into production but was made by Koppel 1960s; after crafting two prototypes, Koppel gave one to a friend and kept the other for himself.
Georg Jensen has now revived the design so that this elegant design object is available to a wider audience for the first time.
Made of smoothly turned, solid oak, with a shape inspired by an acorn. Ideal for storing jewellery, desk accessories or treasured items.
