Edward Barber, born in Shrewsbury in 1969, and Jay Osgerby, born in Oxford in 1969; studied architecture and interior design together at the Royal College of Art in London. They founded their own architecture and design studio – Barber & Osgerby – in 1996. Since then, they have worked together at the interface of industrial design, furniture design and architecture.
Their work has been recognised with numerous awards, including Elle Decoration Magazine Designer of the Year in 2007 and Blueprint Magazine 2005 Furniture Designer of the Year. They have also received the 2004 Jerwood Prize for Applied Arts and the 1998 ICFF Editors’ Award for Best New Designer.
Barber & Osgerby were named Royal Designers for Industry in 2007.
