The Ch 25 lounge chair was amongst the first chairs designed by Hans J. Wegner.
The choice of woven paper cord for the seat and back was completely novel and driven by the war-time restrictions. However, the bold design proved an instant success and over 65 years on, the ch25 has become a classic furniture design piece.
A lot of expertise comes into the handwoven parts of the chair: it takes a skilled craftsman 10 hours to weave the 400m of paper cord in a unique pattern.
The video below shows the tremendous amount of work that comes into the fabrication of this classic mid-century modern Scandinavian piece of furniture by watching the movie below.
The frame is available in natural oak with soaped, lacquered, oiled, white oiled or black-lacquered finish, or in smoked oak with an oiled finish. Also available in walnut with a lacquered or oiled finish.
