Concrete Poetry: Post-war modernist public art by Simon Phipps.
Concrete Poetry is a photographic survey of public art, sculpture and architecture of Modernist Britain. The post-war period of progressive architecture generated some of the most important publicly owned artworks in the UK, many of which have now fallen into disrepair or no longer exist.
Simon Phipps is a London-based, fine art photographer who has spent over 15 years carefully documenting Brutalist architecture across the UK. His role in a renewed interest in Brutalism has been considerable and is only enhanced by this enlightening visual journey of surviving monuments.
Phipps is the author of Brutal London and award-winning Finding Brutalism.
