Cité armchair by Jean Prouve for Vitra.

The Cité armchair is one of Prouvé's early masterpieces, designed for a competition for furnishing the halls of residence at Nancy's Cité Universitaire. The chair has a dynamic appearance, with a characteristic coated sheet steel frame and broad leather arm support straps.

Prouvé himself used this armchair in the living room of his house.

Smooth powder-coated base frame is available in three colours: Japanese red, deep black and ecru. A belted natural leather strap encircles the chair leg structure on each side to create an armrest.

Seat and backrest have a continuous cover in fabric or leather. Fabric available in beige or black, leather in black. Samples may be viewed at our showroom and shop.

Neck cushion in polyurethane foam is height-adjustable.

Fitted with plastic glides for carpet or felt glides for hard floors.

68w x 95d x 21/84cmh
