Gustave Portable Lamp

Gustave Portable Lamp by Vincent van Duysen for Flos.

Designed by Vincent van Duysen for Flos, Gustave is a compact, portable lamp initially conceived for hospitality use. It is aptly named after the iconic concierge of Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel, Monsieur Gustave H.

The Belgian designer was inspired by Adolf Loos's table lamps, which are both refined and classic in aesthetic. The result is an elegant mobile light with a convex shade with a long, slender stem.

The portable light has been developed using innovative optical and light technology. It emits 360 degrees of far-reaching light at a tilted angle, covering up to a metre of surface area. It is one of the first portables on the market with circular design awareness, with all the components being replaceable and recyclable.

Gustave is switched on and off by touching the head of the lamp. It features a cordless design and an IP rating of 54, making it suitable for outdoor use.
