Harri Koskinen is a contemporary Finnish designer. He studied at both the Lahti Institute of Design and at the University of Art and Design, Helsinki. With this strong training in industrial design, Koskinen quickly created a classic, the Block Lamp.
His designs have been part of MoMA's permanent collection since 2000. His works spanning across homeware accessories, furniture, lighting, textiles and even watches. Using his wealth of design knowledge and experience he started his own studio in 2009, launching his products at the International Furniture Fair in Milan. Koskinen’s design is characterized by functionality and strict aesthetic criteria; he is always looking for innovative solutions for both the consumer and the producer.
Koskinen is a critically-acclaimed designer, winner of the 2004 Compasso d’Oro Award.
