HAY

HAY Design was founded in 2002 by Danish couple Rolf and Mette Hay and business partner Troels Holch Povlsen.

The couple who met while working at Danish furniture brand Gubi had a clear idea that furniture design and price should both be accessible to the widest possible audience. It is still this goal, coupled with an ambition to return Danish furniture design to the innovative greatness of the 1950s and 1960s in a contemporary context, which drives the business today. By creating meaningful, practical and accessible furniture, lighting and accessories Hay hopes to contribute to making every day a little nicer.

HAY always circles around architecture, sustainable design and high quality at affordable prices. They are committed to nurturing and promoting the originality of young talents as well as collaborating with established designers (Bouroullec brothers, Du Pasquier, Komplot,.. ). In striving to design the perfect product, they embrace space, new technology, and society. They seek to understand the basis of modern life today. Their approachable designs concepts and use of new materials and modern technology benefit from clever production methods that keep the price tags moderate.

As a supplement to the furniture collection HAY has introduced a home accessory collection including cushions, rugs, kitchenware and mirrors for modern homes.

In 2011 they launched the HAY Market collection inspired by market places around the world. The products found here have been redesigned to fit into a modern context.
