This item is a one-off clearance item to be sold on a first order, first served basis.

Named after the last ever captive Passenger Pigeon - a now extinct species - Flying Martha is an intricately designed ornithopter capable of maintaining flight through a simple rubber band mechanism. By winding up the rubber band and gently releasing the bird like a paper aeroplane, the flapping wings propel it through the air.

As well as being a fun wooden toy, the Flying Martha makes a beautiful hanging ornament in the home when not in use.

Made by master kite-makers in Weifang, China from heat-bent bamboo and mulberry paper hand-painted in a subtle feather design.

Includes gift box and easy assembly instructions.
