Forum Armchair
Forum Armchair by Robin Day for Case.
The Forum Armchair, designed by Robin Day in 1964, is a classic piece of mid-century furniture. Its wooden frame is intricately crafted with finger joints, whilst the chrome-plated legs provide both support and a contemporary touch. The joints have been left intentionally visible by Day to highlight the beauty of the seat's construction.
The Forum design has been revived by the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation for Case Furniture. The team carefully recreated every detail, referencing design drawings and the original production, enhancing the design in a few ways: using modern materials and solid walnut or oak instead of the original tropical hardwood veneers and adding a metal-reinforced frame for strength and longevity.
