Per Söderberg trained at the Domus Academy in Milan. On graduating with a masters in design, he returned to his native Sweden and established a design studio in Stockholm, developing products for Swedish producers such as Ikea, David Design and Asplund, as well as designing interiors for fashion brands Moschino and J Lindeberg.
The NoEarlyBirds range evolved when Söderberg needed a table for his office and decided to build one for himself instead of buying an off-the-shelf product. This prototype with its distinctive tri-formed leg subsequently inspired a range of complementary pieces of furniture, all making use of an elegant and tactile range of materials from supple vegetable-tanned Tärnsjö leather to white marble and brass.
The NoEarlyBirds collection was launched in 2010 and has been exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Maison&Objet in Paris, the London Design Festival and the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
"As both the designer and the producer, I have a unique perspective on how my design decisions affect the final product. I never feel that I have to compromise, since every decision is made from a holistic approach. Having direct contact with the consumer has been very instructive and also given me a humble approach.”
