PK23 Lounge Chair by Poul Kjærholm for Fritz Hansen.
Initially envisioned in 1954 by Poul Kjærholm, the PK23™ lounge chair remained a sketch for seventy years before coming to production in 2025 for Fritz Hansen. Combining form with comfort, its low, wide profile invites relaxation, while the vertically divided, laminated veneer seat and back exudes modern elegance.
The seat subtly curves to support the sitter, while exposed metal brackets speak to the chair’s structural honesty and thoughtful detailing. The chair is available in black-painted ash, walnut, or oak veneer, with a stainless steel base and a black powder-coated finish for the black ash version.
Equally suited to residential and commercial environments, the PK23™ makes a sculptural statement without dominating its space. It is a testament to design restraint, craftsmanship, and the enduring relevance of Poul Kjærholm’s vision.
